On the morning of the 11th of December all students were called into the Halla Nua to listen to a talk from Tiglin. Tiglin are a company that work first hand with homeless people and really make a difference in our country. Because I am a member of YSI I had already attended this talk two weeks ago, however all of us found the talk so compelling that we asked them to come back in and give the talk to the whole year. The talk was about a man's life and his experiences with drugs. He is a recovering heroin addict and is a true inspiration to all homeless people. He has completely cleaned up his act and is actively working in society, recently receiving a organisation and business degree from a university. The talk was very compelling and has inspired our YSI group to participating in making dignity bags for the homeless people in Ireland. I enjoyed the talk and hope everyone has a chance to listen to it.
